July 12th, 2011

Today was a get to be a kid again “fun day”. We took a train to the Academy of Psychomotorics. Psychomotricity is a clinical and therapeutic approach to the person acting on the body as a whole. It acts on the disturbed motor and mental functions in children and adolescents as well as in adults and includes the relational aspects. That is specifically want we did. We started off blind folded and someone lead us through the entire place without us ever seeing it. It was terrifying. I had to climb up rope walls, slide down slides, go through tunnels, ride a wooden train, spin in circles, and swing on a swing- just to name a few. Doing things without sight is so different. The reason they had us do it was for us to understand how children with disabilities feel. They lack in certain senses so when they go through everyday life they don’t experience it the same as we do. Afterwards, we jumped on the trampoline. It was so fun to tumble since I hadn’t in so long.

Following our fun morning we had a chance to grab a quick lunch (I just made a sandwich at the dorm) and we headed to the AIB building for class. We had an hour and a half of German. Lord help us all. It is nothing like learning Spanish in the sense that it is hard to pronounce the words our professor told us and when you try to write it, it is written NOTHING like it sounds. German is way too difficult for me. Hopefully I can start catching on more come Thursday.

We are still trying to finalize Prague plans and hopefully will accomplish that tomorrow. We tried tonight but I think there is just too much estrogen in our group to sit down and successfully plan it. I think we have a case of too many chiefs and not enough Indians if you know what I mean. For dinner we had McDonalds. YUM! Except for it was not top of the notch. We had to go get some good German beer after in the Alter Zoll beer garden to wash it down. Needless to say it will be a while until we have that again. Tomorrow is the Soccer semi-final and I think we are all ready to go crazy!
